Curt Lane (AHS Class of 65) had a big announcement for the Senior Alumni Scholarship Foundation board at their annual meeting on April 13, 2012. Curt said that he and his wife Carol Brindley Lane (Class of 68) recently updated their wills to include an Estate Gift Commitment of $100,000 to SASF. Curt indicated they enjoy knowing that far into the future their gift will benefit graduates of AHS. He and Carol hope that disclosure of this gift will encourage other like-minded AHS alumni to consider a similar gift of any amount.

Curt told the board that the estate gift made more sense to him than setting up a trust because he had been very impressed with the efficiency of SASF. The board is able to minimize expenses by choosing board members with diversified skills and using those volunteers to run SASF effectively. Because there are very few expenses, most SASF contributions are used to fund scholarships.
